This site collects only what you choose to send, and uses it only for what you sent it for.
Directory listings
The business details you submit (name, category, description, business phone, email, website, address and photo) are published in the directory once a PCBO volunteer approves them. Your own name, email and phone, and any note, are never published: volunteers use them only to confirm the listing. Uploaded photos are re-saved without their embedded location data.
Job postings
Approved jobs publish the role, workplace, pay details, closing date and application link or email supplied by the business. The poster’s verification name and contact email stay private and are available only to PCBO staff. Applications go directly to the employer; this website does not collect résumés. Contact PCBO to change or close a posting.
Messages
Messages sent through the contact, volunteer, membership and newcomer forms go to PCBO’s volunteers, who use them only to reply.
Visit statistics
On the business directory, allowing analytics counts directory page views and clicks on business phone, WhatsApp, email, website and directions links. Only daily totals by page and business are saved. They contain no visitor IDs, IP addresses, sessions, search text or referrers. These are counts of views and clicks, not a count of unique people or completed calls. The directory does not load Google Analytics.
If you allow it, the PCBO organization site uses Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are viewed, how people arrive, the kind of device and browser, and the city or region. PCBO’s volunteers use the totals to see what the community finds useful. What you send through the listing, contact and other forms never goes to Google, and Google’s advertising features are turned off.
Analytics stays off until you choose Allow analytics. Your choice is kept in your browser for six months. To change it, use Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page; saying no also removes the analytics cookies.
What the site doesn’t do
No advertising and no selling or sharing of your details. A record of your connection’s address is kept, in a form that can’t be read back, only to stop spam.
